Worship

Life can come at you fast, and faith can run a little thin after 5 or 6 days.  So we gather weekly for worship to connect with God and other people, and to be renewed in faith, hope, and love.  Each Sunday members and visitors gather with prayers and songs around God’s Word and a focused, relevant message for our lives.  We celebrate Holy Communion on campus each Sunday: the 1st and 3rd Sundays in Traditional Worship, and the 2nd and 4th Sundays in contemporary Praise and Worship.  Read more about these worship venues below.

Sunday Worship Venues at Bethany:

Traditional Worship
@ 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
in the Sanctuary (west side of campus)
Find liturgical worship in the Lutheran tradition, with hymns old and new led with our large distinctive tracker pipe organ, and with special anthems by our Chancel Choir, Women’s Singing Group, or soloists.  We use the hymnal Evangelical Lutheran Worship.  Stained glass windows and Gothic architecture enhance the sense of this sacred historic space.  Children's involvement in messages and props are occasionally used to spread His word.   Click here for a typical bulletin that we follow in Traditional Service.

Contemporary Praise & Worship
@ 10:25 a.m.
in the Fellowship Hall (east side of campus)
Find fresh Praise & Worship music, led by our Praise Team “Agape Road,” in a casual atmosphere where you can come as you are.  Moveable chairs, altar, and podium suggest a mission congregation “on the road.”  Lyrics and Bible readings are projected on screens and sometimes a short video piques curiosity about the day’s theme.  Children's involvement in messages and props are also occasionally used to spread His word.
